Dive In Dog Sports

About

Dive In Dog Sports offers private and group dog sport training lessons, specialising in agility and hoopers.

Megan has been training and competing for over 15 years, including at the highest national level in UK agility, and over 10 years of teaching experience.

She introduced hoopers to Guernsey in 2018, and it has been growing rapidly on the island since. This caused her, and a small team, to create Guernsey Canine Hoopers, which is a non-profit organisation that organises competitions and training workshops for dogs locally.

Megan offers lessons to dogs from young puppies all the way up to competition level – and helps seasoned competitors and complete novices enjoy these sports with their dog.

What is agility?

I liken agility as show jumping for dogs. Dogs have to navigate an obstacle course (with the help of their handler) in the quickest with the least amount of errors in order to win.

The course includes jumps, tunnels, weave poles and contact equipment (A Frame, dog walk and see saw).

Hoopers is a newer dog sport that focuses on inclusivity and accessibility. It is also an obstacle based sport, but dogs run through hoops, tunnels and turn around barrels.

It is a very low impact sport for dogs, and rewards teams if the course is completed from a distance, so suitable for handlers with limited mobility.
